FINAL Treatment

Treatment-

Whole movie will be set as a flashback, you ill see this young girls past (15 years old at the start of the film but by the end she will be 25), her father abusing and killing her sister (10 years old) abusing her, and the girl just growing up with all these memories, throughout the film you will see her planning on how she will avenge her sister. Her plan will be to kill her farther. She has dreams of different ways it will happen, you see her living an everyday life but at night planning on this murder. Towards the end of the film you will see the build up of the murder being put into process and then the movie turns to present day. And the murder happens. You then see the after effect of what happens. She does not feel right about what she has done to her farther, she feels that she has turned into a bad person although she was trying to do something right. These dreams do not go away. And eventually she turns herself in. she becomes depressed ad slightly insane with the guilt. The whole time this feeling she was trying to get rid of she thought killing her farther would get rid of it doesn’t work.

We have finally chosen our font, we chose Papyrus because it looks as if is decaying without it looking toO tacky. We have also used the effect earth- quake to give it a similar look to the opening credits in 'Seven'

Voice Over

We have now finished the reporters voice and is currently being put into the sequence.

Preliminary task

In this preliminary task we had to use
180 degrees shot rule to keep the continuety and help keep giving the audience the understanding of what is going on in the story without any confusion.
We used shot reverse shot to make the conversation between the two actors flow, more so than it would if we had a a long shot with both them in it.
Shot reverse shot helps with framing when filming forinstance a convosation between the two people involved.
Match on action is a huge important part in films, it keeps giving the audience an understanding of what is going on in the scene and makes sure shots do not jump due to bad editing.
All of these techniques will help our media group to create stable unique shots that are in sequene with the previous shots.
they will help us with our thriller because to see and understand these camera techniques are very helpful, we have used the 180 rule in our thriller andlots of match on action, because they realte well to the story we are trying to make.

This is the news report we would like to use, although we will not use this actual one, we will try and record our own version with the same story being read.

Editied Treatment

The story goes that there is a young woman aged 20-21 who looks fairly normal she lives in a normal home and wears normal clothes with the exception that she is always wearing wellington boots, (you see these wellingtons as her trademark)
The opening starts with images of her walking through fairly normal surroundings with blood dripping from her hands, you get the idea that she has just come from one of her murder scenes.
We have many shots within religious areas so that you get that she is somewhat from a religious background. Throughout the whole sequence you see flashback images of a man killing a little girl. But you then find out that this is her farther (who will be aged 40-41) killing her sister (who will be aged 10-12). So she has now become a murder to avenge her little sister.
You never see the people she kills so you are not aware of the people she has picked but I think you get the idea that it will mainly be people who give off a farther figure.
The locations used will be talked about in more depth, but the place we keep cutting back to is her house, which does not look any different to any of house you will see around, it will be placed in a common area, but within the house there will be a few disturbing things.

Music and Sound Effects

After looking for the type of music that would best fit our piece, we have decided to do a mix of both sound effects and some background music.
We have chosen to use the sound effect of a news report over our background music, this will help with the story of a piece and making it more clear to the audience than just having clips put together with no narrative.

The background music we have chosen, is very mystical and would not be seen as a song but more noises with a slight beat.

We will shortly put up some previews of our music choice.

2nd Sunday of Feb

Next Sunday we will be filming the final scenes in the story boards. We have managed to secure an actor for the part of the farther who beats his young daughter.

The daughter will be playing a 12 year old girl but in real life she is 15. She has similar features to Lara which makes it even more plausible for her to be her sister in the film sequence.

We will be updating the blog throughout the coming week.

Story Boards!!!

We have chosen this to be the title for our thriller. It is minimalist and shows what we are trying to get across to the audience; desolate feeling inside and what she has been doing.
This is also one of the many locations that we have.

Locations

We have about 5 locations in all.
A house for all of the morning scenes
Part of Hampstead Heath for the Hill and grass scene
The church
King Alfred School for the Snow scene
And another house for the father scene with the daughter getting hit.

Actors

We Only have one actors throughout the piece.
Here name is Lara Weldon.
Lara is a 20-21 year old girl who sees her father hit her younger sister at the age of 15. Repercussions of these instances are just starting to come up again in her life and her anger levels become so high that she cannot cope with them and performs more than one murder.
We see her in the title sequence near the end of her life and the story tells what has happened before the title sequence.
The reason we decided to change most of the title sequence is because everything that we wanted to go in it did not match anything before. So every scene was completely different to the last. It became hard to follow and to complicated. As said by some people we interviewed about it.
